Description
Coelogyne moi (M.Z.Huang, J.M.Yin & G.S.Yang) M.W.Chase & Schuit. (2021: 120) (Fig. 2)
≡ Panisea moi Huang et al. (2012: 13).
Type:— CHINA. Hainan: Wuzhishan City, Mount Wuzhi, tree trunk near crest of hill, 1550 m, 16 March 2011, Huang 747938 (type IBSC).
Habitat and phenology:—Epiphyte. Flowers in January–March.
Distribution:— Vietnam (Kon Tum Province) and China (Hainan).
Proposed conservation status:—According to presently available data, the species is rare and still found only in one location in Kon Tum Province. More field studies are necessary for its conservation assessment. In view of the lack of current data and in accordance with IUCN criteria (IUCN, 2019), the species should be assessed as nationally “data deficient”: (DD).
Notes:— Panisea moi resembles P. vinhii, but differs in subentire lip having keels running from near the lip base to the middle of the disk (vs. lip distinctly 3-lobed, with clawed mesochile and keels presented only on epichile).
Species examined:— VIETNAM, Kon Tum Province, Kon Plong District, 23 January 2022, epiphyte on small branches, Truong Ba Vuong BV 1354 (VNM 00069953, photos LE 01123077 https://en.herbariumle.ru/?t=occ&id=132446, LE 01123091 https://en.herbariumle.ru/?t=occ&id=134262), BV 1355 (VNM 00069952). VIETNAM, Kon Tum Province, herbarium specimen prepared from wild collected plant cultivated in private collection originated from Tu Mo Rong District, 23 January 2022, Truong Ba Vuong, BV 1356 (VNM 00069954).
