Fâtiḥ-alḳulûb ( فاتح القلوب ) .
History of the life and wonderful deeds of the great Shaikh Mîr ‘Abdallâh ibn Mîr Mużaffar alḥusainî altirmidhî (who died A.H. 1035= A.D. 1626, according to the two chronograms on fol. 19a: زدنياى دنى قطب زمان رفت and روضۀ جاويد , a date also given in Beale’s Oriental Biogr. Dictionary, p. 6b, whereas, according to another chronogram on the same page, viz. شيخ زمانه بود , and the statement on fol. 18b, line 7, see also Rieu i. p. 154a, his death took place ten years sooner, in A.H. 1025 = A.D. 1616), by one of his disciple, divided into twelve bâbs, and beginning: الحمد لله ..... بعد از بيان توحيد و ثناى بارى عزّ اسمه و نعت سيّد المرسلين و خاتم النبييّن امير المؤمنين و امامان دين عليهم السّلام و مدح اصحاب مستطاب الخ.
Mîr ‘Abdallâh Tirmidhî, with the takhalluṣ Waṣfî , was a clever calligrapher , who got from the emperor Akbar the honorary epithet of Mushkîn Ḳalam, and a good poet too, see Rieu, loc. cit., and Bodleian Catal., No. 1894.
The last year that appears in this little work , mentioned as date of the death of one of the Shaikh’s great pupils, is A.H. 1054 (A.D. 1644, 1645), on fol. 31a, l . 15.
This copy was finished the 23rd of Dhû-alḳa’dah, in the 20th year (either of Shâhjahân, which would be A.H. 1056= A.D. 1646, December 31, or more likely of ‘Âlamgir, A.H. 1087 = A.D. 1677, January 27). On fol.1b the work is simply styled: تأريخ مير عبدالله .
