Description

These technical guidelines have been prepared by the technical support unit on knowledge and data and reviewed by the task force on knowledge and data within IPBES.

The approved version of these guidelines are available at https://ict.ipbes.net/data-management/technical-guidelines

Part 2 of the geoinformatics technical guideline series, Preparing and Mapping Data to IPBES Regions and Sub-regions, will show how to aggregate and map FAO data according to the IPBES Regions and Sub-Regions polygons using R. For this exercise, we chose the FAO population data but any FAOSTAT dataset can be used.

If interested, all source files are also available on my GitHub. For any questions, feedback, or suggestions for future guidelines, contact tsu.data@ipbes.net
