Description

Baetis cyanops F.-J. Pictet, 1843

Baetis cyanops F.-J. Pictet, 1843 -1845: 171-172, pl. 20, fig. 2. Heptagenia elegans (Curtis, 1834). – Eaton, 1871: 145 (synonymization).

Heptagenia sulphurea (Müller, 1776). – Eaton, 1888: 268 (synonymization).

Accepted name: Heptagenia sulphurea (Müller, 1776).

Locus typicus: “… au bord du Rhône ... “ [Geneva].

Type material: Syntypes (male imagines?), not traced.

Remarks: A well-established synonymy. Heptagenia sulphurea is still present in the Rhone River at Geneva (Sartori et al., 1989).
