Ancient and Veteran Tree Ontology

Authors/Creators

Description

An exploration of a potential Ancient and Veteran Tree Ontology to plan analysis protocols for future work. This is a screen grab from an OWL file using Protege Desktop. This version is based on woodland surveys in South Wales 2018-2022. The surveys covered ancient woodland, post-industrial woodland, eighteenth-century estate woodlands and urban-industrial woodlands. this ontology follows the concepts developed by Ingo Kowarik. For South Wales, the data collection confirms the increased significance of exotic or non-native species in estate and coalfield locations.
