Pulmonary Function and Blood DNA Methylation: A Multiancestry Epigenome-Wide Association Meta-analysis

  • 1. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences

Description

We conducted a multiancestry meta-analysis of epigenome-wide blood DNA methylation and lung function. We combined study-specific association results using inverse variance weighted fixed effect models. Additional filtering steps were applied to identify genome-wide significant differential methylation signals. We identified numerous novel CpGs differentially methylated in relation to pulmonary function traits (FEV1, FVC, and FEV1/FVC).
