COVID-19, FATO SOCIAL PATOLÓGICO E HABITUS: mudanças sociocomportamentais durante a pandemia

Description

This article presents a descriptive discussion based on the findings made in a Social Service and Health
survey during the first seven (7) months of the appearance of COVID-19, in two evangelical churches, in
the central terminal of the city of Uberlandia, Minas Gerais and social networks, which aimed to analyze the
particularities, the impact of COVID-19 on the behavior of social subjects and the new social behaviors
caused by the pandemic. To support the analysis, the concepts of Social Fact (Durkheim) and Habitus
(Bourdieu) were used. The main hypothesis is that COVID-19 is a pathological social fact and has effectively
influenced the behavior of social subjects. Thus, the following guiding question was asked: What are the
basic behavioral changes caused by COVID-19 in Brazilian society? Through bibliographic, quantitative
and field research, with critical social observation, the results point to drastic socio-behavioral changes that
require socio-educational actions related to the mental health of the populations in order to avoid the
appearance of diseases as a result of these changes.
