Description

Hemibidessus conicus (Zimmermann, 1921)

Diagnosis (instars II–III). Within Bidessini, larvae of Hemibidessus are characterized by the following combination of characters: A3 lacking a ventroapical spinula (Fig. 11); legs elongate (ratio L3/HW> 3.20); femur and tibia with natatory setae (Fig. 7); secondary setae on dorsal margin of protarsus (Fig. 7); urogomphus elongate (ratio U/HW ˃ 2.70), with numerous secondary setae (Fig. 9); primary seta UR8 inserted apically on urogomphomere 2 (Fig. 9).
