Despite its pervasiveness, the concept of sustainability remains unclear. Hence, approaches tend to frame its dimensions separately. When the interaction of its dimensions influences the goals and targets established over time. Besides the environment, relationships are essential for human survival. Hence, this paper aims to provide insights into the potential of strengths-based approach in bridging the environmental and social facets of sustainability. The approach is applied to a community project in the Philippines. This resulted in an environment-friendly project and participants showing concern for the community. With this, the revelation of capabilities ensues individual inertia which is necessary for collective action to occur.
