Cotarita Cuellirrufa (Laterallus exilis), nuevo registro para el estado Anzoátegui, Venezuela

RESUMEN

Un individuo de Cotarita Cuellirrufa (Laterallus exilis) fue capturado el 10 de febrero de 2021, en horas de la mañana, en la ciudad de Lechería, estado Anzoátegui, y no podía volar. Se obtuvo una única documentación fotográfica. Los rasgos diagnósticos para su identificación fueron la coloración rufo acanelado brillante en la base del cuello y la parte anterior del manto, y el verde pálido fluorescente en la base del pico. Es el primer registro de la especie para este estado.

ABSTRACT

An individual of Gray-breasted Crake (Laterallus exilis) was captured on the morning of 10th February 2021, in Lechería city, Anzoátegui state; the bird could not fly. An unique photography was obtained. The diagnostic features for its identification were the bright rufous patch on nape and mantle and basal corner of upper mandible, and the pale fluorescent green at the base of the bill. It is a new species record for this state.
