Description

FIXLAB is a distributed platform composed of 23 stationary research infrastructures based in 12 European countries that gives access to more than 130 analytical techniques and the associated expertise. It provides transnational access to external researchers all across Europe that investigate major questions related to the materiality of Heritage artefacts (or samples) in terms of their genesis, manufacturing process, alterations, conservation and preservation, etc. This first access report covers the activities carried out by FIXLAB from the start of the project to the 1st of July 2022. These activities include the initial work of building the FIXLAB access offer through the catalogue and its categories, the elaboration of a common access policy and selection criteria together with the MOLAB and ARCHLAB platforms, and the setting up of the FIXLAB helpdesk, and the creation of remote access opportunities. This report also analyses the results of the first three calls for access and their state of completion. This report is concluded with a work plan and some perspectives for the future of the platform.
