Potential of entomopathogenic nematodes in biological control of crop pests

Description

Entomopathogenic nematodes are currently marketed worldwide for use in inundative biological control, where the applied natural enemy population (rather than its offspring) is expected to reduce insect numbers. They are potential biocontrol agents amenable for mass production, handling and application on a large scale and also for integration with other methods in an IPM schedule for control of insect pests in agriculture, horticulture and forestry and also could be adopted for pests of public health and veterinary importance.
