BEST SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS FOR REGISTERED ORGANIZATIONS ON CAMPUS

My senior honors project focuses on registered organizations on a college campus. Based on my own experience, my organization struggled with member engagement during the COVID pandemic. Due to the pandemic, school organizations transferred from in-person to online meetings and engagement. As the president of my advocacy group on campus called Planned Parenthood Generation Action (PPGEN), I wanted to know which social media platforms would help me engage and retain club members for my club during a pandemic, especially since my club was newly created. My senior honors project focuses on which social media platforms best engages and attracts new and current members, advocates, and volunteers to attend Planned Parenthood Generation Action’s virtual meetings and social events because by building a community through social media, we as an advocacy group will be able to spread awareness on reproductive rights. Through this research, I would identify which social media platforms from Titan link, Instagram, and Discord the students utilize more frequently to stay informed about club activities to attend. With this information, other organizations advocating for their organization will be able to use the social media that would best amplify their organizational goals.
