Select WRF-AHW model output of Hurricane Gonzalo (2014) used in Fischer et al. (2022)

Description

The data contained in this archive are select model output of the WRF-AHW ensemble simulations examined by Fischer et al. (2022). Here, select hourly WRF output is stored in netCDF format on storm-centered cylindrical grids for the innermost domain (d04; 1.33-km horizontal grid spacing). There exists a total of 60 ensemble members. The netCDF output files contain blocks of ensemble members, ordered sequentially, to conserve memory. For example, for variables with 3 parts (e.g., "rh"), each part contains 20 ensemble members. For variables with 6 parts (e.g., "uwind"), each part contains 10 ensemble members. In both cases, hourly output for all 60 members is available. Each .nc file contains metadata on the nature of the cylindrical grid.

The respective 0-based indices of the early- and late-RI ensemble members examined in the study are available in the "ensemble_group_indices.txt" file. The model specifications of the d04 domain are available in the "d04_nc_print_out.txt" file.

Additional model data is stored on discs locally at the University at Albany and can be made available upon request.
