Alagumuthukon

Alagumuthukon was the first chief tain in Tamil Nadu to resist the British.  His heroic struggle is still remembered by the lovers of nation. He was an Indian warrior who rebelled against the existence of the British. In Tamil Nadu he fought against the Presidential forces from 1750 - 1759. He was a Nationalist a leader of secular principles and above all a trust north hero. His services to the nation are honored in many respects and the Government of Tamil Nadu has erector a memorial for him in Kattalankulam. Where there is the remnant of his place. Alagumuthukon inaugurated an era of native resistance against the British Power in the eighteenth century.
