Preparing the National Archaeological Repertory for ARIADNEplus

Description

This presentation provides a brief overview of Institutul Naționalal Patrimoniului (INP - the National Heritage Institute of Romania) and its database, Repertoriul Arheologic Național (RAN - the National Archaeological Repertory ). It describes how the records are being contributed to ARIADNE, which document 2,550 archaeological sites along with relevant geographical information and how this activity has has also improved the quality and richness of the RAN data with some examples. The final part shows how the RAN records were converted to the ontology and format of AriadnePlus(i.e. AOcat).
