Rhinogobius schultzei Herre 1927

Description

Rhinogobius schultzei Herre, 1927

Rhinogobius schultzei Herre, 1927: 185 (Fabrica, Occidental Negros, Philippines).

From Herre’s description this could be a Pseudogobius or Mugilogobius. The two syntypes (BSM 12407 and BSM 26833, 2(28–37, 35– 42 mm TL)) were destroyed in WWII. Koumans (1940: 186) noted them as “Probably a Stigmatogobius ”, which could mean Pseudogobius or Mugilogobius (Larson 2001).
