The Travassian conception and its importance for the territorial organization of Brazil

The aim of the article is to measure the conditions and  topicality of the geopolitical thought of Mário Travassos as a   method of interpretation of the implementation of a road network and energy infrastructure in South America. The adopted scale analysis is the continental one and, the authorized bibliography proves that Travassos' points of view still relevant to understand the territorial development of South America. The conclusion is that hydrocarbon trading in parallel to the implementation of a infrastructure is one of the vectors of South American integration.
