Genus Cestradoretus Ohaus, 1912
Cestradoretus Ohaus, 1912: 416; 1916: 6; 1918: 196.
Type species: Cestradoretus tenuirostris Ohaus, 1912, by original designation.
Diagnosis. Medium sized beetles (12–16 mm). Color brown to brownish red, without metallic tint. Dorsal side of body with fine, rather sparse pubescence not hiding sculpture. Antenna 10-segmented, with a 3-segmented straight club, as long as scape and funicle together. Apical margin of labrum with long, fine, acute process, curved downwards (Figs. 1E, 2E). Eyes large, separated in the middle by a short canthus. Pronotum bordered all around. Elytral striae feebly visible, marked by a row of punctures. If marked, odd interstriae much narrower than even interstriae, weakly elevated and impunctate. Even interstriae sparsely and irregularly punctate. Wings fully developed. Legs with shape typical to Adoretini species, with setae differing in length and thickness. Protibiae with 3 teeth near apex of outer margin, the basal tooth weakly produced. Large claw of mesotarsi forcipate. Parameres party fused.
Species composition. Seven species are known: C. tenuirostris and C. melolonthoides from Madagascar and C. acomys, C. tarsatus, C. freyi, C. minusculus and C. clypealis from Africa.
