Spectrophotometric and Conductometric Studies of the Complex of Cu2+ Ion and 2,4-Dihydroxybenzoic Acid in Aqueous Medium

Description

Cu2+ Ion forme a green, water-soluble complex with 2.4.-dilydioxybenzoic said with maximum absorption at 300 mμ. in acidic medium. The complex is stable to wide temperature variation and at the pH range of 5.0 to 6.0. The molecular exetinoetion  coefflcient 0.54x 102 The formula of the complex, established spectrophotomotrically and condustomatrically, in CuR (R=reagent). The dissonciation constant of the complex and its fret energy of formation from Job's method are 1.99x10-3 and —3.71 kcal/mole at 30º. respectively.
