Genus Hirayacorophium nom. nov.
Hirayamaia Bousfield & Hoover, 1997: 108, figs, 24, 25 [non Hirayamaia Marumo, 1917 (Lepidoptera, Pyralidae); non Hirayamaia Matsushita, 1937 (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae)].
Type species. Corophium mortoni Hirayama, 1986; fixed by original designation for Hirayamaia Bousfield & Hoover, 1997.
Included species. Hirayacorophium includes three species: H. mortoni (Hirayama, 1986) comb. nov.; H. tridentia (Hirayama, 1986) comb. nov.; H, hongkongensis (Hirayama, 1986) comb. nov.
Etymology. The replacement generic name is a compound noun derived from the dedication to Dr Akira Hirayama of the homonym Hirayamaia by Dr. Bousfield, together with the genus name Corophium.
