Twenty halogenonitrophenyl ester of O-methyl- and O-ethyl-Xanthic acids have been prepared by the condensation of halogenonitrobenzenes and Potassium O-methyl- and O-ethyl Xanthates. They have been characterised and tested for their antifungal activity against \(Alternaria\) \(Tenis\), \(Heiminthosporiurn\) \(sativum\), \(Aspergillus\) \(Niger\) and \(Colteototrichern\) \(gleoesporide\) by spore germination method. A relation between fungitaxicity and structure has also been established.
