Carboxylic Derivatives of Bis(1,3-Cyclo-octadienyl) Molybdenum Oxy-dichloride and Bis(1,3-Cyclo-octadienyl) Tungsten Oxy-dichloride

Reactions of dicyclo-octadienyl molybdenum(VI) oxy-dichloride (C₈H₁₁)₂ MoOCl₂(A) and dicyclo-octadienyl tungsten(VI) oxy-dichloride (C₈H₁₁)₂ WOCI₂(B) with mono-, and dicarboxylic acids have been studied and the corresponding carboxylate derivatives of (A) and (B) have been isolated. In these compounds the chlorine atoms of (A) and (B) are replaced by carboxylate groups. IR Spectra and some other physical characteristics of the compounds are reported.
