Halogenation of Cadmium(Il) Complexes Containing Nitrogen Donor Ligands

Cadmium(II) complexes having the formulae CdL₂X₂, CdL₃Y₂, and CdL'X₂, CdL'Y_2, where L= pyridine, quninoline, isoquinoline and 3, 5-lutidine,L'=\(\gamma\) picoline X=Cl^- and Y- Br^-, when chlorinated in ethanolic medium formed anionic complexes of the type [HL]₂[CdX₄], [LH]₂,[CdX₂Y₂] and [L'H] [CdX₃], [L'H] [CdY₂X]. These compounds have been characterised on the basis of analysis, conductance and infra red spectral data.
