Synthesis of 1-metbyl, 3-aryl or arylalkyl 5,6-dimetbyl or polymetbylene tbieno [2,3-d)·pyrimidlne-4-ones is described. A few compounds showed weak diuretic, hypotensive and anti-inHammatory activity.
