Description

gSeaGen is a GENIE-based application developed to generate high energy neutrino-induced events detectable in a neutrino detector. The code is able to generate events induced by all neutrino flavours, considering topological differences between track-like and shower-like events. It can simulate neutrinos coming from diffuse sources (e.g. atmospheric neutrinos) and from point-like or extended astrophysical sources, according to several neutrino fluxes. Neutrino interactions are simulated taking into account the density and the composition of the media surrounding the detector. gSeaGen can also perform transport of muons from extensive air showers generated with CORSIKA. It is possible to retry events which fail to reach the detector in order to improve the statistics of the simulation at a lower computational cost.

The code is written in C++ and developed within the KM3NeT Collaboration. The source code is maintained in a GitLab repository available at git.km3net.de/opensource/gseagen.
