Thermodynamic Study of Complexation of Some Transition Metal Ions with 2-Substituted Thiazolidine-4-Carboxylic Acids in Aqueous Medium**

Potentiometric titration technique has been applied to study the complex equilibria of 2-propyl thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid, 2-phenyl thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid and 2(2')-fury) thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid with Mn(II), Co(ll), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) at different ionic strengths and temperatures. Thermodynamic functions ( ∆G#, ∆H#, ∆S#), electrostatic and cratic components have been determined. The effect of dielectric constant on stabilities is discussed.
