Thermoosmosis Across Cellulose Acetate and Cellulose Nitrate Membranes

Thermoosmosis of water across cellulose acetate and nitrate membranes have been studied at a number of mean temperatures, and results interpreted in terms of modifica­tion of structure of water in the membrane phase in relation to that in bulk water. A few preliminary observations on thermoosmosis of some electrolyte solutions have also been reported.
