Oxine forms molecular adduct complexes with ferrocyanic and ferricyanic acids. Mössbauer spectra of both the complexes are of complex nature. These have been resolved into different sets of lines indicating the possibility of different iron sites. Inter-molecularly hydrogen bonded structures have been proposed. Infrared evidence also supports these conclusions.
