STFLNDVI: A long-term 1km NDVI time series since 1982 by fusing MODIS and AVHRR products

Description
- A global long-term NDVI dataset is generated since 1982 through fusing MODIS and AVHRR products, with a spatial resolution of 1km and monthly intervals.
- This dataset can be regarded as a backward extension of the 1km MODIS observations with consistent data characteristics. It is provided using the standardized MODIS sinusoidal grid with the same geographic projection, with the data format of TIFF images.
- Users can search the interest regions using the MODIS tile number, i.e., ‘h*v*’. The time-series NDVI from 1982 to 1999 are provided in one compressing ZIP file, with the maximum size of about 600M memory after uncompressing into the TIFF format (*.tif).
- The compressing TAR.GZ files are named using the MODIS tile number, i.e., ‘h*.tar.gz’, which contains several 'h*v*.tar.gz'. After uncompressing into the TIFF format, the files are named as “Fusion.MOD.Tile Number. Year Month.tif”. Such as the file name “Fusion.MOD.h07v03.198201.tif” means it is the 1km NDVI for regions of the MODIS h07v03 grids in January of 1982.
- The spatial distribution and temporal variation of this dataset have been both well validated by the simulated and real-data experiments. The detailed information can be found in the published paper.
- Due to the quota limitation, some data are not successfully uploaded, including the data with tile numbers of h22v02, h23v02, h24v02 and h25v02, and all the data with the vertical tile number of v00 and v01. This data can be accessed by emailing us at guanxb@whu.edu.cn.
