Description
The Urbanonto Ontology is an OWL ontology stored in Turtle serialization. It is a domain ontology, which aims to conceptualize the history of the topographic objects which make up an urban centre, as depicted in traditional topographic maps. It is a result of the Historical Ontology of Urban Space project urbanonto.ihpan.edu.pl
In the Urbanonto system, ontology serves a two-fold, purpose. It serves as:
- a glossary of terms connected with urban representation
- a resource containing the data used in the database:
- list of topographic object types
- list of functions
The Urbanonto Ontology makes direct use (meaning owl:import) of two additional ontologies:
- BDOT10k ontology
- ontohgis ontology.
