Die Gattung umfaßt nur 7 saprophytische Art und besitzt in den Tropen Asiens und Afrikas eine nahe verwandte Gattung. Die Gattungsmerkmale sind in der Artdiagnose enthalten.
Die Gattung Epipögium ist unter unsern Gattungen mit Neottia und Listera am nächsten verwandt (Vermeulen 1965).
