Description

Dilophotes luteus sp. n.

Type material. Holotype, male, " Laos, Boli Kham Xai prov., Ban Nape (8 km NE), 18.21°N / 105.08°E, 600 m, 1.­ 18. 5. 2001, Vít Kubáò leg." (LMBC).

Diagnosis. Dilophotes luteus sp. n. reminds in body size and colouration D. kubani sp. n. These species differ substantially in the shape of male genitalia (Figs 25, 26) and antennae. Additionally, D. luteus sp. n. is the only species with yellow scutellum.

Description of holotype. Body medium­sized, slender, black, pronotum, scutellum, and elytra light yellow, covered with light ochre pubescence. Eyes very large, maximum eye diameter 1.36 times interocular distance. Antennae flabellate, lamellae of middle antennomeres three times length of trunks. Pronotum 1.57 times wider than long. Frontal margins widely rounded, frontal angles inconspicuous, lateral margins slightly concave, posterior angles moderately projected. Disc with short frontal longitudinal keel and distinct transverse mound in middle. Disc surface shiny, light brown with dense pubescence. Scutellum slightly emarginate posteriorly. Elytra long, very slender, flat, each elytron with three longitudinal costae in humeral part, costa 1 very weak, shortened, distinct in humeral quarter. Male genitalia with small, strongly curved phallus (Fig. 26).

Measurements. BL 6.0 mm, WH 1.32 mm, PL 0.77 mm, PW 1.21 mm, Ediam 0.50 mm, Edist 0.36 mm.

Distribution. Dilophotes luteus sp. n. is known only from the type locality in central Laos.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the colouration of elytra.
