Levidorum pori (Ben­Eliahu, 1977)

Material examined. Israel: holotype BMNH 1997.1074, Gulf of Elat, Dendropoma ­habitat 27 Apr 1972.

Diagnosis. Levidorum with simple chaetae with 2 teeth, anteroventral pair of eyes larger.

Description. Holotype mounted on broken slide, in very poor condition. Description based on San Martín (2003) if not otherwise stated. Length 7.7 mm for 53 chaetigers, width 0.7 mm. Preserved material without colour markings. Ciliation absent.

Four eyes, with lenses, in trapezoid arrangement, on dorsal and ventral side; anteroventral pair larger. Palps absent. Nuchal epaulettes absent. Antennae and dorsal cirri absent.

Parapodial lobes rounded, very small. Single acicula (Ben­Eliahu, 1977). Chaetal fascicle with 3–5 chaetae in all chaetigers. All chaetae simple club–shaped, with 2 teeth; small distal tooth; serration absent or present. Bayonet chaetae absent.

Pharynx with sinuation anterior and lateral to anterior half of proventricle. Trepan in tentacular segment with 5 long equal teeth. Basal ring present; infradental spines absent (observations from type specimen). Proventricle equal in length to 2.5–3 segments in chaetiger 2–4 with c. 25 rows of muscle cells. Pygidium without cirri, possibly absent.

Reproduction. Unknown.

Habitat. Dendropoma ­habitat.

Distribution. Indian Ocean (Gulf of Elat), Mediterranean.

Remarks. See remarks for L. hartmanae.
