Types. Holotype, female, China: Henan Province, Luanchuan County, Longyuwan, 33°42.53’N, 111°45.62’E. July 19, 2004, from Fragaria vesca L. (Rosaceae), coll. Xue, Xiao-Feng. Paratypes, 3 females and 2 males, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.

Etymology. The specific designation vescae is from the specific epithet of type host plant, vesca.

Remarks. This species is similar to Epitrimerus sabinae Xue & Hong, 2005, but can be differentiated by the presence of submedian lines (submedian lines absent in E. sabinae), coxal area with short lines (coxal area with granules in E. sabinae), female genital coverflap with 10 ridges (female genital coverflap with 14 to 18 ridges in E. sabinae).
