Description

Orimarga (Orimarga) transversalis Alexander, 1971

Alexander, 1971: 240 (original description); 262, figure 12 (wing). Type locality: Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro (Grajaú).

Paratype of unknown sex with labels: (1) printed on white paper: “Grajahu | 20 – IV - 940 [April 20, 1940] | Lopes & Oliveira”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on blue paper: “ PARATYPE | Orimarga | transversalis | C. P. Alexander”.

Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle. Missing parts: antennae, right wing, most legs except hind legs and terminalia. Additional note: the sex of this specimen is considered as unknown in the original description.
