Distribution (Map 36): Transcaucasus (Armenia). - In Iran: Kordestan, Kohkiluyeh va Boyerahmad, Fars, Kerman provinces.

Bionomics. This bivoltine species is known from only a few specimens, and the biology is poorly known. It occurs from 1500 to 2350 m and is on the wing in late March and August. Food plants unknown. The species is noted from Iran for the first time. The female is described and figured for the first time, being similar in appearance to S. alpherakyi but generally darker, with deeper reddish-brown ground colour, and more uniform forewing ground color. Hindwings with indistinct greyish transversal band. Wing expanse 48–57 mm, forewing length 23–27 mm.
