Pentamerismus McGregor 1949

Description

Genus Pentamerismus McGregor, 1949

The genu s Pentamerismus can readily be recognized, according to Meyer & Van Dis, (1993) by the following combination of characters: body ovate to obovate; palpus five- segmented, distal segment with three phaneres; second and fourth segment with or without setae; rostral shield present or absent; prodorsum with three pairs of setae (ve, sci and sce); opisthosoma with three pairs of dorso-central setae (c1, d1, e1); two pairs of dorsosublateral setae (c2, d2,); seven pairs of dorsolateral setae (c3, d3, e3, f2, f3, h1, h2) to eight pairs of dorsolateral setae (c3, d3, e2, e3, f2, f3, h1, h2) and setae f1 is absent. Intercoxal area with setae 3a and 4a. Pregenital shield usually present, pregenital area with one pair of aggenital setae (ag); genital shield with two pairs of setae (g1- g2), arranged in a transverse row and three pairs of anal setae (ps1- 3). Tarsal claws uncinate.
