Description

Thaumatoniscellus Tabacaru, 1973

Type species, Thaumatoniscellus orghidani Tabacaru, 1973

Diagnosis emended. Small blind trichoniscid with stout body. Dorsum ornamented with rounded tubercles on head, pereon and pleonite 3. Head short with 2 rows of tubercles. Epimera of pleonites 3–5 well developed. Antennal flagellum three segmented. Maxilla 1 endopodite with 3 short and stout penicils. Maxilla 2 outer lobe narrow. Maxilliped endopodite with narrow latero-distal margin. Genital papilla anchor-like terminally. Male pleopod 1 exopodite voluminous, laterally constricted, terminally of complex three-dimensional structure; endopodite stout with reduced terminal article, shorter than exopodite.
