Pyralis seruana Fabricius 1776
Creators
Description
seruana Fabricius, 1776
Pyralis seruana Fabricius, 1776: 292; 1781: 279; 1787: 227; 1794: 253.
Type locality. Germany (“Habitat in Germania. Dom. de Hattorf”). Material examined. None.
Identity. Eulia ministrana (Linnaeus, 1758) (Tortricinae, Euliini).
Remarks. Overlooked in literature, this synonymy is derived through Herrich-Schäffer (1856 (4): 41) as servana, presumably an emendation. Fabricius used the spelling seruana in his publications of 1776, 1781 and 1787, but changed it to servana in 1794 without comment.
