Pyralis corylana Fabricius, 1794: 260.
Type locality. Germany, Kiel (“Habitat in Kiliae Corylo”).
Material examined. None.
Identity. Pandemis corylana (Fabricius) (Tortricinae, Archipini) (Fernald 1908).
Remarks. Pyralis corylana is the type species of the genus Pandemis Hübner, 1825 by subsequent designation by Fernald (1908), and the senior synonym of Tortrix textana Hübner, 1799. Its identity has remained stable in the literature (e.g., Pierce and Metcalfe 1922, Brown 2005).
