Sarcophaga

Description

Sarcophaga (?) smithiana Pape, 1996

Pierretia (Bercaea) smithi Nandi, 1990: 21. India, Bihar, Deoghar, Nalakha. [Junior secondary homonym of Idoneamima smithi Dodge, 1956.]

Sarcophaga smithiana Pape, 1996: 334. New replacement name for Pierretia smithi Nandi, 1990.

Based on the original description and illustrations by Nandi (1990: 21–22, figs 1–4), I exclude this species from subgenus Heteronychia; pending a direct study of the holotype (which is deposited in the National Collection of the Zoological Survey of India, Calcutta), its subgeneric placement remains doubtful.
