Phlugiolopsis trullis Bian, Shi & Chang, 2012, sp. nov.

9. Phlugiolopsis trullis sp. nov.

Male. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, comparatively short, apex obtuse, furrowed in midline. Eyes subglobular, protruding outwards. Apical segment of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical one, apex slightly inflated.

Anterior margin of pronotum straight, posterior margin obtusely rounded, medial carina indistinct; lateral lobe longer than high, humeral sinus absent.

Femora of all legs unarmed on ventral margin. Procoxa with 1 small spine; internal and external sides of ventral margin of protibia with 5 spines and 1 apical spur separately; tibial tympana open on both sides, oval. Mesotibia with 4 spines and 5 spines on internal and external sides of ventral margin, and a pair of ventral apical spurs. Genicular lobes of postfemur with apices obtuse; posttibia with 24–25 dorsal spines on each side, 1 pair of dorsal apical spurs and 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs.

Tegmina short, slightly surpassing posterior margin of pronotum, reaching the middle area of second abdominal tergite. Hind wings absent.

Apical area of tenth abdominal tergite protruding backwards, posterior margin slightly concave. Cerci cucullar in interno-lateral view, maniform in ventral view; internal margin of basal half lobated expansion, the interno-dorsal lobe slightly broad, the interno-ventral lobe slightly narrow, broadening in middle area of cerci; apical half faintly compressed, narrowing, slightly curved interno-dorsad, apex obtuse. Subgenital plate with base broad, gradually narrowing, basal margin obviously excavate; lateral margins bent ventrad; posterior margin slightly excavate in middle. Subapex of subgenital plate with thin and long styli on ventral margin, the apices obtuse.

Female. Similar to male appearance, slightly larger. Posterior margin of eighth abdominal tergite with faintly medial excavation; posterior margin of ninth abdominal tergite with slight concavity in middle, lateral margin protruding backwards; apical area of tenth abdmonial tergite protruding backwards, posterior margin shallowly concave. Epiproct triangular, apex obtusely rounded. Cerci stout, conical, apices acute. Ovipositor gently curved upwards, base stout, narrowing, apices of dorsal valvulae pointed, ventral ones with a small terminal hook. Subgenital plate nearly triangular, basal area slightly broad, basal margin indistinctly excavate; lateral margin expanded ventrad; apex broadly rounded.

Coloration. Male body yellowish brown, female light green. Eyes brown. Internal margin of antennal socket, scape and pedicel light brown, flagellum with some faintly light brown annulate stripes proximally. Dorsum of head with 4 black brown stripes: outer stripes narrow, extending to internal margin of antennal socket; medial stripes broad, which fused in fastigium verticis. Pronotum with a pair of dark brown stripes on lateral margins of disc, the apices indistinct, between area brown. Apices of genicular lobes of femora and tibiae black brown. Spines and apex of posttibia light brown. Lateral margin of abdominal tergites, sternites, and subgenital plate black brown in male. Female abdominal sternites black brown.

Type material. Holotype: male, Bazhai, Maguan, Yunnan, 19 July 2006, collected by Hao-Yu Liu. Paratypes: 2 males and 2 femals, Bazhai, Maguan, Yunnan, 19 July 2006, collected by Hao-Yu Liu. Measurements (mm). Body: 37.2–7.8, Ƥ9.0–9.4; pronotum: 33.4–3.7, Ƥ3.4–3.5; tegmen: 32.1–2.2, Ƥ1.7–1.9; postfemur: 37.5–7.7, Ƥ7.4–8.3; ovipositor: 6.4–6.6.

Remarks. The new species is very similar to Phlugiolopsis brevis Xia & Liu, 1993, but it differs from the latter in: basal half of male cerci lobated expanding on internal margin, which cucullar in interno-dorsal view, apical half faintly compressed; posterior margin of female subgenital plate broadly rounded.

Etymology. Named in reference to the male cerci almost cucullar in interno-dorsal view.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).
