Rhyparoclopius dubius was described based on a male holotype, a female “allotype” and a male paratype from the state of Pará, northern Brazil, with male specimens measuring 12.5 mm and female specimen measuring 13.5 mm in length (Barber 1930).
A photo of the holotype can be freely accessed at (http://research.amnh.org/iz/ types _db/ details.php?specimen_id=5711), which have been made available by the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), where the holotype is deposited.
