(Figures 4, 19, 43, 49)
Bothriomiris sulawesicus Gorczyca, 2005: 539, Figs. 1–4 [sp. nov.] Bothriomiris sulawesicus: Gorczyca 2006: 11 [catalog]
Diagnosis. Bothriomiris sulawesicus is recognized by the following combination of characters: body larger than 5.50 mm; dorsum almost entirely dark brown, nearly black (Fig. 4); head brown to dark brown; vertex with two distinct, broad, convex tubercles, each weakly removed from posterior margin of vertex and contiguous with inner margin of eye (see Fig. 1, Gorczyca 2005); antennal segment I longer than width of vertex (Fig. 4); anterior lobe of pronotum inpunctate, broad, strongly convex; scutellum dark brown with yellowish, longitudinal stripe medially, from basal margin till apex (Fig. 4); left paramere with sensory lobe furnished with distinct spine; endosoma with DSS strongly curved apically, and with long, distinct, curved sclerite originating from its basal one third (see Figs. 3–4, Gorczyca 2005).
Most similar to B. dissimulans in the inpunctate anterior lobe of pronotum and the coloration of the scutellum. This species can, however, be easily distinguished by the longer antennal segment I, the less convex tubercles on the vertex, and the shape of the male genitalia with the left paramere with sensory lobe strongly convex and the endosoma with the DSS strongly curved apically, and with long, distinct, curved sclerite originating from its basal one third.
