Solter neglectus Navás, 1940: 97.

This species, synonymized with S. liber by Aspöck et al. (1980), is reinstated here as a valid taxon.

Redescription. Medium-sized species (Fig. 45). Forewing 23–28 mm, hind wing 21–25 mm. Characteristically reddish-dark brown species. Labrum, clypeus and frons pale with a transversal brown line below base of antennae, weakened in some specimens (Fig 46). Vertex raised with dark brown transversal markings above antennae, dorsal surface dark brown with two conspicuous posterior oval-shaped dots (Fig. 48). Last segment of labial palp slightly enlarged with a stout apical part (Fig. 47). Pronotum with an anterior wavy line and yellow posterior markings. Femora brown, tibiae brown basally and apically with a median band, these markings are less conspicuous in hind legs which lack stout white erect setae. Tibial spurs strait, slender and short, extending beyond first tarsomere in fore and mid legs and at most as long as first tarsomere in hind legs (Fig. 49). Tarsomeres 3, 4 and extremity of 5 black. Abdomen with a yellow longitudinal marking on tergite 1, two posterior narrow markings on tergite 2 and remainder of abdomen with alternating yellow and brown bands, the yellow areas maculated with brown. Sternite 7 of female as in figure 50. Spermatheca with the canal sharply bent twice (Figs 83, 84). In male, gonarcus thick, moderately arched with wavy superior edge and two expansions on inferior edge (Fig. 73). Parameres oval-shaped with posterior surface slightly convex and inner edge of around basal 2/3 strongly projected forward. (Fig. 74).

Material examined. Lectotype ♀ MALI Koulouba [13.12607–7.41186], Waterlot leg. 1925 (MNHN). Koulouba 1♀ Waterlot leg. 1929 (MNHN). About 11 km North Sikasso [11.30377–5.69125] 1♂ 20.iii.1998, resting on the shaded side of a lateritic stone, B. Michel leg. Natiékoura, about 20 km East of Sikasso, road to Bougouni, 1♀ 10.ii.1997, 1♂ 1♀ 11.ii.1997, 1♂ 22.ii.1997, 1♂ 1♀ 24.ii.1997, 1♂ 25.ii.1997, 1♂ 26.ii.1997, 1♂ 27.ii.1997, 1♂ 04.iii.1998, 2♀♀ 15.iii.1997, 1♂ 20.iii.1997, all B. Michel leg.

Distribution (Fig. 86). Known only from southern Mali.
