Description
Epanerchodus koreanus Verhoeff, 1937
Epanerchodus koreanus— Mikhaljova 2004: 215 (a detailed description and a complete bibliography list).
Material examined: 1 male, 1 female (NEIGAE), 1 male (ZMUM), China, Jilin Prov., Changbai Shan Mts, Changbai Shan National Park, ca 128º50’E, 42º00’N, 1420–1500 m a.s.l., mixed forest, dead wood, September 2013, leg. D. Wu.
Remarks. This species is easily distinguished by its particularly broad and usually dark reddish-brown paraterga, coupled with a quite stable gonopod structure, including a bifid exomere (Mikhaljova 2004). It has hitherto been known throughout Korea, as well as in Kyushu, Japan and the Maritime Province, Russia (Mikhaljova 2004). The above samples thus represent the first formal record of E. koreanus in China.
