* Eupithecia assimilata Doubleday, 1856

Eupithecia assimilata Doubleday, 1856, The Zoologist 14: 5140, 5142. Syntype (s) (BMNH), [United Kingdom].

This species is holarctic, and had earlier been recorded for areas bordering Mongolia, such as the Altai Mts. (Mironov, 1989a) and Dahuria region (Kostjuk, 1992; Kostjuk & al., 1994). It had not previously been recorded from Mongolia itself.

Material examined. 1♀, Mongolia, Selenge aimag, Mandal sum, Erooriver, 1–2.viii.2002, leg. C. Gantigmaa, Mironov slide no. 835♀ (coll. Gy.M. László).
