Magnimyiolia perennifascia Singh & David, sp. nov.

(Figs. 1–9)

Description. Male (Fig.1). Length of body, 5.28 mm; wing, 5.84 mm.

Head (Fig. 2): Angular and almost equal to right angle, 0.6 times higher than long. Frons light fuscous; all setae black with 3 frontal and 2 orbital setae. Ocellar seta, lateral and medial vertical seta and postocellar seta present; postocular row black. Antennal segments fuscous to brown, first flagellomere narrowing from base to tip and dorsoapically rounded; arista short and pubescent. Face vertical, with height 1.3 times as long as antenna and without any markings; gena, parafacial and occiput pale fuscous.

Thorax (Fig. 3): 2.31 mm long, 1.48 mm wide, entirely yellow. Scapular setae well developed. Thorax with well developed chaetotaxy; 1 postpronotal, 1 presutural supra-alar, 1 anterior notopleural, 1 posterior notopleural, 1 postsutural supra-alar, 1 dorsocentral, 1 postalar, and 1 prescutellar acrostichal seta. Scutellum yellow with two pairs of scutellar setae. Anepisternum setulose with 2 setae posterior to anepisternal phragma, anepisternal stripe pale extending from postpronotal lobe to phragma, anepimeron and katepisternum with a single seta. Katepisternum, anatergite, katatergite and meron entirely yellow. Subscutellum and mediotergite yellow. Haltere yellow.

Legs: Coxa, trochanter and femur entirely yellow, tarsomeres yellow; forefemur swollen with one row of posteroventral spines, mid and hind femora setulose without spines. Midtibia yellow with a stout spine apically; hind tibia yellow without any spine.

Wing (Fig. 4): Hyaline with three transverse bands; subcostal band extending from cell sc to cell bcu, uninterrupted radial medial band from costal margin to cell cu2, expanded abruptly at crossvein r-m, almost as wide as or wider than crossvein r-m, subapical band fused with anterior apical band, which reaches cell dm. Pterostigma yellow to dark brown, costal cells hyaline except small brown spot apically; cell sc relatively short, about 0.6 times as long as cell c; base of cell br fuscous, apex of cell r1 dark brown. Vein R1 setulose throughout its entire length; vein R4+5 with setae up to crossvein r-m. Crossvein r-m beyond the middle of cell dm.

Abdomen (Fig. 5): 1.81 mm long, 0.98 mm wide, abdominal tergites yellow to brown without any fulvous markings. Epandrium and surstyli (Figs 6, 7) yellow to dark brown with long dark brown setae; anterior and posterior surstylus well developed; inner surstylus with median prensiseta larger than lateral prensiseta; aedeagal apodeme wide and fan shaped; glans of phallus strongly sclerotised (Fig. 8), elongate, trumpet shaped, vesica of glans, subapical lobe and basal lobe well defined and transparent; dorsal sclerite of glans with internal sculpture pattern of elongated granulation.

Material examined. Holotype ♂, INDIA: Sikkim, Lachung, 08.xi.2012, Coll. Shakti K. Singh, NPIB (NPC). Paratypes: 4 ♂, same data as holotype (NPC).

Remarks. This species is very similar to the recently described species M. tengchongnica Chen from China, but differs in having 3 frontal setae and an uninterrupted radial-medial band.

Etymology. The specific epithet based on its uninterrupted (=perennis) radial medial band (=fascia).
