Description
Pomponia orientalis (Distant, 1912)
Tettigia orientalis Distant, 1912a: 460 [TL: Cochin China]; Distant, 1914: 3. Cicada orientalis: Metcalf, 1963: 786.
Pomponia orientalis: Lee, 2008: 10; Pham & Yang, 2009: 14. Pomponia occidentalis [sic]: Sanborn, 2009: 308.
Material examined. No specimen was examined.
Distribution. Southern Vietnam, and Thailand.
Remarks. This species should belong to a different genus with the following characteristics: fore wing basal vein of apical cell 1 about as long as longitudinal vein of apical cell 1; male operculum longer than broad, widely separated from each other. However, the present paper refrains from erecting a new genus for this species, waiting for further studies.
